When our clients came to us looking for a low-maintenance landscape that could double as a serious short-game practice facility, we knew exactly how to deliver. This 2,200 square foot transformation combines a tour-quality putting and chipping green with lush, family-friendly lawn space, all with zero mowing, watering, or fertilizing.
The Green Complex
The centerpiece of this project is a 410 square foot green complex engineered for true performance. Beneath the putting surface, we installed our proprietary underlayment system, which delivers realistic chip reaction; shots land, check, and release just like they would on a well-maintained conventional green. It is the difference between a backyard novelty and a practice green that actually sharpens your game.
Wrapping the green is a border of Syntipede 243 fringe, providing that clean first-cut transition you’= would expect at a private club, along with a realistic lie for chip and pitch shots around the green.
To complete the practice setup, we added Tee Strike Plus hitting pads: a durable, forgiving surface built to take thousands of swings while protecting your clubs and your joints.
The Rest of the Yard
Surrounding the green complex, we installed SYNAugustine 847 across the remaining lawn areas. With its rich color, soft feel, and natural St. Augustine-inspired blade structure, it delivers the look of a perfectly manicured Florida lawn year-round without the upkeep.
